A carillon of 21 bells, purchased for Harvard College by a donor who wishes to remain anonymous will reach Cambridge this morning.

Intended to hang in the tower of Lowell House, the carillon is a set of very valuable Russian bells of bronze, weighing 25 tons. Authorities expect to put them in place by October 20.

The carillon, as is the custom, will only be used on special occasions. It will be played either by clockwork or finger keys.
