Thirty-five new men who were present at the meeting of the Rifle Culb last night heard Melvin Johnson '31, a former member of the rifle team, speak on the history of the club. Capt. T. C. T. Buckley '31 then explained shooting form.
Although shooting is not recognized as an official sport, shoots will be held this year with Annapolis and Trinity Colleges. Last year two shoots with Trinity and Boston College were both won by Harvard.
Shooting is at 200 yards, slow and rapid fire. Competitions are conducted in winter and spring for National Rifle Association qualifications for marksmanship, sharpshooter, and expert.
T. C. T. Buckley '31 is the club's president, T. B. Gregg '31, secretary, and T. W. Dunn '31 treasurer. The club is open to all members of the University.
