READING PERIOD WREAKS HARDSHIPS IN 22 COURSES

There are 22 courses under the head of Reading Period courses that are continuing meetings of various descriptions during the Reading Period, according to information obtained at University Hall, Saturday.

The greater number of these are science courses which are observing laboratory periods but some other courses are holding periodic meetings. Three Philosophy courses are holding the usual section meetings but are dispensing with lectures. In these, reading assignments corresponding to from one to two weeks work are given the students in addition to their usual amount of weekly reading.

The following is a detailed list of those courses which observe the Reading Period yet continue meetings: Botany 2, 3, 7, 10, (laboratory work only continues): Chemistry 3a, 5, 6, 10, 12, 13, 21 (laboratory work continues): English 62 (a few meetings for presentation of reports): Geography 14 some conferences): History of Religions 4 (occasional meetings): Meteorology 3 (no lectures, but laboratory work and one meeting a week to continue): Mineralogy 8 (laboratory work continues): Paleontology 1 (one laboratory section at least): Philosophy A, B. 1a (no lectures, sections to continue): Zoology 5, 17 (laboratory work continues). Research, thesis, and seminary courses are not included in the above list.
