TORONTO WALLOPS HARVARD ON ICE 6-2

Toronto University's speedy hockey sextet made it two straight over Harvard last night when the Canadian stickhandlers, outplaying their rivals in every department of the game, trounced the Crimson by a 6 to 2 score. In the first game of the series in New York last Saturday night Toronto edged out a 3 to 2 victory.

Supreme over Harvard in the first game Toronto seemed more so last night. The veterans on the Canadian team were too fast and too clever for the Harvard team which had four Sophomores in its starting lineup. With Paul, rangy defense man starring in an individual role, and the two centers, Stewart and Bell, feeding the puck constantly to their wingmen, Toronto presented an offense that had Harvard bewildered.

The game opened slowly but soon it became apparent that it was just a matter of time before Toronto would score. Harley finally poked one in with the period three-quarters gone. Harvard tried hard to score before the period ended but time and again the forwards would advance the puck near the cage only to lose it again because of ragged stickhandling.

The second period brought out some of the best hockey of the season to date with both teams concentrating on the offense. With three minutes gone Putnam tied the score with a shot from directly in front of the cage after he had taken the puck on a pass from Stubbs. Then inside of two minutes Toronto scored twice on shots that never should have passed Ellis. The first was a feeble attempt by Paul that just slid by the Crimson goalie and the other a shot by Marshall coming after a scramble in front of the cage.

But Coach Stubbs' charges were not to be denied and Garrison came back later with a score that put the Crimson back in the running. In the last half of the period play was furious with both sides uncorking some sparkling hockey. Toronto widened the gap, however, when McMullen counted on a pass from Stewart.

Both sides showed the effects of the gruelling second period in the last stanza and play was slow and dull. Two single-handed goals by Paul, Toronto's speedy defense star, were the only bright spots in a drab twenty minutes.
