Professor J. H. Beale '82 of the Harvard Law School has suddenly decided to sail for London on Wednesday to make a six weeks' study of the London county council system of federation in order to develop a working plan for the organization of a Metropolitan Boston which will satisfy all the cities, included within a 15 mile radius.
Professor Beale, who has become engaged in this work through his presidency of Mayor Curley's Conference on Metropolitan Boston, will be supplanted in his position in the conference by Dr. R. D. Doten of the Economics department of M. I. T. In addition, Professor W. B. Munroe of Harvard, who is on sabbatical leave in California, is expected in Boston within a few days to assist at the conference.
