The School of Business Administration enters upon the twenty-second year of its existence today, when approximately a thousand business men representing over two hundred colleges and universities will register in the Baker Library. The dining halls will be open for the noon meal to all students who reside in the Living Halls.
This morning's registration in the Business School launches the University upon its two hundred and ninety-fourth year. Registration for Freshmen in the College begins tomorrow morning, and the first-year men in the Engineering School and the Medical School will register at the same time. The various other departments of the University begin their registration on Saturday or on Monday, and the enrollment of students will be brought to a close in all departments on Monday.
A change in the required number of courses in the Business School is evident in the fact that students in the second year may register in four courses instead of five. Each study group must, however, include the course in Business Policy, two courses in the chosen field of specialization, and a choice of one or two electives in another field. If a student takes four courses, he will be allowed to audit either one course or two courses, preferably outside his field of concentration. If he enrolls in five courses, he may not attend any other course.
Students who intend to audit one or more courses are not to sign up for these courses on registration day but are requested to arrange for them through one of the assistant deans in Morgan Hall, between Monday and October 8.
Classes for the first year students will begin Monday, while the second-year students gather on Tuesday for the first time. Applications for meals close at five o'clock on Monday.
