Red Top, Conn., June 4--This morning's workout for the two University crews now practicing on the Thames consisted in a row over the upper two miles of the course. They went up separately, but paddled back together, in three stretches.
In the afternoon both paddled separately down to the railroad bridge. The jayvees rowed over the full four-mile distance at a low stroke. The University crew at the same pace.
The seating in the jayvee boat was the same as in yesterday's practice except that E. L. Belisle '31 exchanged places with L. L. Wadsworth '30 as cox of the shell, and that Millard and Sturges were shifted, the former going to No. 2.
The lineup in the University boat was unchanged from that of yesterday.
Coach Brown gave F. S. Holmes '31 who made the trip to Red Top as cox of the combination boat a tryout in the stern of the jayvee shell in the afternoon and said he intended to let him handle the tiller in the University boat tomorrow.
