FRESHMAN BALL TEAM TAKES ON PURPLE 1932

White or Tobe Slated to Hurl for Home Aggregation--Visitors Have Strong Outfit

The 1932 baseball forces will face the Holy Cross first year nine at 4 o'clock this afternoon on Soldiers Field.

The Crimson Freshmen got off to a slow start, losing to St. John's Preparatory and Worcester in their first two encounters. Since, however, they have displayed a steady improvement, winning handily from St. Anselms and Tufts Freshmen and nosing out a thrilling victory from an extraordinarily powerful Exeter nine on Saturday.

The first year men will be called upon to show their very best form to conquer the Purple youngsters today. The visiting team is perhaps even stronger than its powerful predecessors of the past few years and will be out to avenge an 8 to 5 defeat administered by the 1931 Crimson outfit last spring.

Coach Davidson will probably call on either Phineas Tobe '32 or F. O. White '32 to handle the hurling assignment this afternoon. Each has one victory to his credit in the games to date.

The probable Harvard lineup follows:

Mays, 2b.; Sprague, c.f.; Luplen, 1.f.; Wood, s.s.; Des Roches, r.f.; Vogel, 3b.; Fincke, 1b.; Sheldon, c.; White or Tobe, p.
