TRACK MEN INVADE NEW HAVEN TO MEET FAVORED ELI TEAM

Previous Performances Favor Elis by Narrow Margin--Crimson Attains Peak of Form for Clash

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

With high hopes of repeating last year's victory and taking two meets in succession from the Blue for the first time since 1907, the Harvard track forces, 48 strong, embarked for New Haven this morning at 8.25 o'clock.

Not in the least disheartened by the gloomy forecasts of the papers, Coach Farrell's men have every expectation of surprising the dopesters by a win over the favored Elis. The present excellent condition of the squad augurs well for an upset, and the clear weather of the past few days has aided in bringing the team up to top form. The group that journeys to New Haven will be in fighting trim, ready to seize every opportunity of toppling the Bulldog track men.

Yale Has Better Record

However, on the basis of past performances, Yale has the better team. Headed by Captain Brandenburg who is credited with a discus throw of 15 feet further than the best throw of T. H. Alcock '29, the Eli squad presents an imposing array of talent; Kieselhorst and Engle in the runs, Connor and O'Gorman in the weight events, and Sturdy and Pond in the pole vault, are the outstanding luminaries of the team, and have an excellent chance of hanging up some dual records in their particular events.

On the other hand, Harvard's entries in the distance runs, the javelin, and the broad jump outshine the corresponding Eli performers. Yale will have no walkaway.
