Philadelphia, May 24--The Harvard 150-pound crew and the third University eight will be up against crack crews in these classes when they race over the Henley course on the Schuylkill River here tomorrow. Gathered for competition in the American Henley are oarsmen from Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Navy, and Pennsylvania.
In the competition for light-weight crews, Columbia, winner of last year's cup is rated as the big favorite. Harvard is given the advantage over Yale in this class because of its victory over the Blue on the Charles last Saturday, but Penn and Princeton, the other two contenders; are dark, horses and may upset all the dope. The University crew is minus the services of Donough Prince '31, flashy stroke man, whose place will be taken by T. N. Perkins, Jr. '31. J.Q. Adams '31 will take the latter's seat at No. 2 and the rearranged crew will meet a crucial test when it lines up with the crack New York oarsmen.
Yale, winner in this class last year, is not expected to shine excessively but Princeton, again a dark horse, may crash through, while Penn, the only other contestant, is not conceded much of a chance against either Harvard or Princeton.
The seatings follow:
University 150-pound--Stroke, T. N. Perkins, Jr. '31; 7, H. N. Roberts '30; 6 F. E. Farnsworth '29; 5, M. H. McKusick '29; 4, W. W. Ames '31; 3, Harper Woodward '31; 2, J. Q. Adams '31; bow, D. S. Staples '30; cox, Richard Kimball '31.
Third University--Stroke, R. W. Pearson '31; 7, E. L. Millard '31; 6, J. W. Hallowell '31; 5, G. L. Lewis '30; 4, Lawrence Grinnell '31; 3. Amor Hollingsworth, Jr. '31; 2, R. R. Stebbins '31; bow, J. S. Wintringham '30; cox, F. S. Holmes '31.
