For the first time since its inauguration the annual International Physiological Congress is to be held in America this summer. The Harvard Medical School has been chosen as the place for the session.

At present more than 1100 delegates have signified their intention of attending the convention. Of these approximately 460 are coming from 33 foreign countries, including Japan and China, and will bring with them 150 members of their families.

The foreign visitors will be the guests, while in this country, of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology. Those who desire it will be given accommodations in the Freshman Halls in Cambridge and in Vanderbilt Hall of the Medical School.

The opening meeting will be held on Monday, August 19, in Sanders Theatre, Officials of the University, of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and of the government of the United States will be on hand to welcome the delegates. At this session Professor August Krogh of Copenhagen will be the chief speaker. Scientific sessions will be held from Tuesday to Friday at the Medical School. On Thursday evening, August 22, a large banquet will be staged, possibly in Memorial Hall though it is doubtful whether that structure can accommodate a sufficiently large number of people.

An August 24 the foreign members will journey to Woods Hole, whence on the following day they will proceed to New York City. During the ensuing week they will be entertained in and around New York.

Among the distinguished physiologists who will be present at the Congress are, in addition to Krogh, Professor Pavlov of Leningrad and Professor Leon Fredriq. The President of the Congress is Dr. William H. Howell of Johns Hopkins University. The local committee in charge of arrangements consists of Cannon, chairman, and Doctors E. J. Cohn and A. C. Redfield '13 of the Medical School, secretaries.
