William Leland Thompson Jr. '32, of Troy, New York, has been elected captain of the Freshman crew and will lead the eight in its next and final encounter with Yale at New London June 21.

Thompson, who rows No.7 in the 1932 boat, prepared at Groton where he captained the crew in his Senior year.

In addition to his crew achievements, he won his numerals playing end on the football team last fall, and this spring he served on the Freshman Smoker Committee.
