OREGON AND HARVARD PLAN NEW TELEGRAPH GOLF MATCH

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A tentative date for the latest innovation in the golfing world is set for Wednesday, May 23, when the University golf team will meet the University of Oregon in a match which will be held by telegraph.

As far as it is known this is the first time that such a match has ever been held. The idea is that of Moe, leader, of the Oregon team and Oregon state champion. Courses will be picked by each team which roughly correspond to each other in difficulty. The golfers will then shoot against par and the results will be exchanged by wire. Each team will play with four men.
