CRIMSON LACROSSE TEAM LOSES TO SYRACUSE, 5 TO 4

DEFENSIVE TACTICS IN SECOND HALF ARE UNAVAILING

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In a closely contested game on the Business School field, the University lacrosse team was defeated 5 to 4 by Syracuse on Saturday.

The whole game was replete with thrills and the outcome was uncertain until the final whistle blew. In the first half Syracuse quickly leapt into a 2 to 1 lead, but the Crimson players launched a fierce offensive which kept their opponents at bay all through the initial period. The Harvard offense was led by R.G. Glenn '30, and only the stellar goal-tending of Gidlow prevented several tallies.

The second half showed a decided change with the Crimson players decidedly on the defensive and Syracuse doing most of the attacking. The University players were greatly handicapped by poor stickwork in which department of the game they were distinctly outclassed.

The outstanding stars for, Syracuse were Longley and Richardson, while Captain H. M. Hartnett '30, together with Glenn, turned in the best performances for the Crimson. The game was witnessed by a fairly large crowd.
