HARVARD TO USE STARTING BOX IN INTERSCHOLASTICS

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A starting box will be used in the races of the Interscholastic Meet in the Stadium on May 11, it was announced yesterday by Coach E. A. Farrell. This will be the first time that the apparatus has been used at Harvard, although the University of Pennsylvania used a similar arrangement in the Penn Relay Carnival last week.

The box, which is manufactured in Indiana, containes holes from which the sprinters can get a start. According to Coach Farrell no better start is obtained than was possible before, but the machine saves time and prevents the damaging of the cinder paths.
