FIRST YEAR EIGHT IS ROUNDING INTO FORM

Opening Race With M. I. T. Next Week Will Find Crew Ready--Cornell Two Weeks Off

With the opening race with the M. I. T. first-year men just a week off, the Freshman crew is fast rounding into form. The "Red" crew, stroked by A. H. Parker '32 will be the one to row in the race with the engineers, having led both the "White" and the "Blue" eights consistently since vacation.

During the past week, a strong wind has made the waters of the Charles River Basin too rough for any conclusive trials but the three crews have been over the course several times.

When the first year men meet M. I. T. the Engineers will have had their first trails of the season for they row Princeton over a mile and three quarters course this afternoon. The 1932 eight will also oppose Cornell on May 11 and will then enter a period of intensive training prior to the Yale race at New London on June 21.

For the 150-pound eight, the race with the Technology Freshmen will be the only contest before the Yale race which will be held May 18 for the 150-pound crews.

The seatings for the first crew are as follows: Stroke, Parker; 7, W. C. Thompson '32: 6, S. D. Pierce '32; 5, J. V. Veeder '32; 4, Desmond Fitzgerald '32; 3, T. E. Armstrong '32; 2, F. F. Colloredo Mansfield '32; bow, T. M. Page '32.
