UNIVERSITY FOILSMEN ELECT MODELL CAPTAIN FOR 1929-30

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

David Isiah Modell '30, of Brooklyn, New York, was elected University fencing captain at a meeting on Thursday of the team picture Notman's studio, where the team picture was taken.

Modell last year won the Junior New England Foils Championship in the A. F. L. A. competition, and during the past year he has been one of the mainstays of the Harvard team.

In the Yale meet, due to the injury of Wesselman, Modell was unexpectedly called upon to take the place of the regular contestant in the epee, and he succeeded in winning both matches in this event, as well as his foils bouts.
