Announcements of the thirty-first annual meeting of the Associated Harvard Clubs to be held in Cincinnati, May 23, 24, and 25, are being mailed this week to 55,000 Harvard graduates, it was learned yesterday from H. M. Williams '85, president of the organization.
An important feature of the affair will be the Graduate Schools Day, first planned three years ago and successfully carried out at last year's meeting in Philadelphia. This day, the first of the meeting, will be devoted to informal luncheons and business meetings for each graduate department of Harvard University. These gatherings are planned especially for the man who holds a degree from the University other than an A.B. A banquet for all schools and invited guests will take place Thursday evening, with speakers of national prominence.
The general business meeting of the Clubs will take place at the Hotel Sinton on Friday, May 24, according to a program arranged by the Executive Committee. Among other subjects, there will be an open forum on the House Plan, following speeches on the question by President Lowell, Professors Coolidge and Greenough, and possibly one of the architects for the Plan. The problem of increased accommodations for the Yale-Harvard football games, which has been discussed this winter in alumni circles, will also be approached.
In the evening, the banquet by the Harvard Club of Cincinnati to the visiting Clubs will be given. The toastmaster will be the Honorable Nicholas Longworth '91. Speaker of the House of Representatives. Among the speakers will be President Lowell and the Honorable W. T. Gardiner '14, Governor of Maine.
For Saturday, a boat trip has been arranged up the river between the Ohio and Kentucky hills. At Coney Island, several miles up the river, there will be an old-fashioned Kentucky burgoo luncheon. Varied amusements will be arranged for the afternoon. Dinner and informal entertainment in the evening will take place at the Cincinnati Country Club.
