UNIVERSITY DEBATERS WILL MOUNT ROSTRUM AGAINST B. C.

On Thursday, March 21, in Symphony Hall, Harvard University and Boston College will debate the proposition, "Resolved, That the death penalty be abolished in Massachusetts," it was announced last night by J. M. Swigert '30, president of the Harvard University Debating Council

Harvard will argue the affirmative and Boston College the negative of the question, which should be of especial interest in view of the bill recently introduced into the legislature, for the abolition of capital punishment.

Last year in Symphony Hall, the two colleges debated the proposition, "Resolved, That Alfred E. Smith is eminently qualified for the presidency," before an audience of 3500 people, the largest crowd ever to attend an intercollegiate debate in New England.

Tryouts for the Harvard team will be held tomorrow afternoon in Holden Chapel.
