CUSTOM REQUIRES SURVEY OF HARVARD COLLEGE YARD

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The old college yard and the University owned property near the Charles are at present being carefully surveyed by men working under the direction of the Treasurer's Office. According to the workmen, the survey is being taken in compliance with an old custom which required a survey of the property to be taken every few years in order to show the change that had taken place in the yard. The last of these surveys however, was made in 1898.

A certain mystery surrounds the present work which is being done. Authorative information is not available in University circles. It is thought that the survey has a direct connection with the House Plan building program, but nothing definite in this direction could be learned.
