Defeats Seeded Player in Startling Squash Upset--Team B Still Leads in League Play

A. C. Ingraham '31, ranked third on the second University squash team, defeated R. A. Powers, of the Tennis and Racquet Club, who is seeded fourth in the State Squash Racquets tournament, in a startling upset last night. Ingraham, the first man to reach the fifth round, fought his way to victory over Powers in a match that lasted for nearly two hours. Although the score was 10-15, 15-9, 15-9, 15-18, 15-7, every point was bitterly contested.

At a late hour last night no other fourth round match had been reported as completed. In a third round match S. B. Myers '29 defeated E. J. Sawyer of the Harvard Club by a score of 15-13, 12-15, 15-11, 15-2. All third round matches are supposed to be played by tonight.

In the Massachusetts Squash Racquets League the second University team continued to head Class B by virtue of its 3 to 2 victory over the Harvard Medical School. Ingraham played third for Team B and disposed of G. B. Salter of the Medical School by a score of 15-6, 15-8, 12-15, 15-9.

The Harvard Freshman defeated the University Team C by a 3 to 2 total.

Eisman '30 defeated A. L. Harris (HM), 15-7, 17-16, 11-15, 18-16.

Harvard Freshmen defeated Harvard University 3 to 2. A. B. Pool '32 defeated E. M. Shelton '31, 3 to 2; A. W. Patterson '32 defeated Burton Richardson '29, 3 to 0; F. O. Canfield '32 defeated Caleb Cauman '30, 3 to 0; C. H. Kawakami '30 defeated R. C. Champollion '32, 3 to 2; E. P. Gunn '30 defeated P. G. Livermore '32, 3 to 0.
