ANDOVER FOILS FRESHMAN FENCERS IN CLOSE CONTEST

Final Match Decides Issue 5 to 4 in Favor of Schoolboys

Andover nosed out the 1932 foilsmen 5 to 4 yesterday afternoon in the closest Freshman match this season at the Hemenway Gymnasium.

The match was decided by the last bout of the day between F. C. Fiechter '32 and D. P. Frame of Andover in which the latter won 5 to 3. Previous to this contest, the 1932 swordsmen rallied after a poor start to make the count stand four all.

Summary:

Foils--K. R. Ludlam (Andover) defeated Harry Beckwith '32 5-3, and F. C. Fiechter '32, 5-0. D. P. Frame (Andover) defeated R. J. Jiminez '32, 5-3, and F. C. Fiechter '32, 5-3. Harry Beckwith '32 defeated D. P. Frame (Andover), 5-3, and J. M. Murray (Andover), 5-2. R. J. Jiminez '32 defeated K. R. Ludlam (Andover), 5-4, and J. M. Murray (Andover), 5-4. J. M. Murray (Andover) defeated F. C. Fiechter '32, 5-0.
