The annual dinner for men who have been awarded an "H" for baseball will he held at the Varsity Club this evening at 7.30 o'clock.
At that time, O. W. Keliher, the new coach for the second nine, will be introduced. The usual formalities of speeches will be omitted. One of the features of the evening will be the presentation of the Wingate Trophy and the Wendell Bat. Both these trophies are awarded annually. The former is given to the best all-around player on the team. The Wendell Bat is awarded on the basis of a point system. One point is credited to a player for every safe arrival at first base, sacrifice hit, and stolen base, and for every run scored by him.
Last year these awards were made to H. W. Burns '28, and in 1927, Isadore Zarakov '27 was the recipient.
On Wednesday, at 1.05 o'clock there will be a meeting of all candidates for the University and Freshman teams at the Varsity Club.
On Saturday a competition, open to Sophomores, will begin for the position of Second Assistant Baseball Manager.
