With the fencing room in the Hemenway Gymnasium filled to its capacity, the University foilsmen defeated Pennsylvania yesterday 13 to 4.

Harvard clinched the victory by its performance in the foils, winning eight out of nine bouts. In the epee contest, the contingent from Philadelphia seemed almost as weak, losing three out of the four bouts. The honors in the sabre event were equally divided, each team winning twice.

This afternoon at 3.30 o'clock, the University team meets New York University in the Hemenway Gymnasium. To date, the latter has shown strength in defeating the Navy. For this reason, a close match is looked for by the Harvard team which has split even out of two starts.
