QUINTET TO OPPOSE ENGINEERS TONIGHT

The University basketball quintet meets M. I. T. this evening at 8 o'clock in Hemenway Gymnasium.

Technology is sending up an exceptionally strong team this season, and hopes to repeat its victory of last year over the Crimson. From 1922 to 1928, Harvard had a continuous string of victories over the Engineers, but last year, for the first time, on its home floor, M. I. T. put a stop to this record with a 29-23 score.

So far this year, M. I. T. has three decisive victories to its credit, with Nee leading the team in scoring. Lawson is also an accurate shooter, and these owe their scores as much to the team-work of the quintet as to individual ability.

Harvard's team proved itself to be one of the fastest, though lightest teams here in several years in its first game of the season last Friday, when it defeated B. U. 44-24. The Crimson squad is potentially powerful, and has been well grounded on fundamentals, but there are some rough spots to be smoothed over before it can conquer M. I. T. M. E. Peirce '30 and T. I. Nido '30, who started their first game for the Crimson on Friday are again in the opening lineup.

In the afternoon, previous to the University game, the Freshman basketball team will open its season in a contest with the M. I. T. first year men. This game is to be in the Freshman Gymnasium.
