DEBATERS ENCOUNTER NEWARK TEAM TONIGHT

REPRESENTATIVES ANNOUNCED FOR RADCLIFFE CONTEST

Speakers for the debate with the New Jersey Law School to Newark tonight were announced yesterday by E. E. Rowe 1L, coach of the University debating team. At the same time debaters for the Harvard-Radcliffe contest on Monday, November 18, were announced.

The system of split teams will be used in the Newark debate, with R. B. Eckles '32 and A. B. Rood '31 on the affirmative, and D. D. Lloyd '31 and F. C. Flechter '32 as alternates. The negative team will be composed of P. C. Reardon '32 and Gerald Harrington '30, with J. S. Jennison '30 and A. A. Windecker, Jr. '32 as alternates.

The subject of the debate tonight is Resolved, that as part of its disarmament program the United States should promise to cooperate with other nations in protecting a neutral nation unjustly attacked. The four speakers, accompanied by J. S. Jennison '30, manager, and the coach, will make the trip to Newark. The debate, following as it does the recent visit of Ramsay MacDonald, has aroused a great deal of interest.

Upperclassmen who will meet Radcliffe on November 18 are: R. H. Jones '30, D. D. Lloyd '31, D. I. Cooke, Jr. '31, and L. B. Cohen, Jr. '32. Alternates in this debate will be R. M. Alt '32, and A. A. Windecker, Jr. '32.

Further trials in the Freshman competition for the Radcliffe debate on Monday, December 16, will be held Tuesday afternoon from 4 to 6 o'clock in Holden Chapel. Candidates will be required at that time to talk two minutes on censorship.
