This afternoon at 5 o'clock, G. A. Reisner '89, professor of Egyptiology, will deliver the fourth of his present series of lectures at the Lowell Institute, Huntington Hall, Boston.
His topic will be "The first three dynasties: the organization of the administration; the arts and crafts; crude brick architecture; the step pyramid of Saqoara; granite temples of Giza. The next talk of the group, to be given next Tuesday, will continue in the same vein, being on "the consequences of the great period, dynasties V-VI. The causes of the collapse of the first great monarchy of Egypt".
On Friday, December 6, he will discuss "The feudal period and its outcome; trade with Ethiopia". The sixth lecture, the following Tuesday, will cover "The Egyptian new empire" and "The Egyptianization of Ethiopia". The series of lectures will be concluded on Friday, December 13, with a discussion of the "Independent Monarchy of Ethiopia".
With all of the lecturees in the series, there will be lantern slides of excavations and monuments. Tickets for the lectures may be secured in advance from the Curator of the Lowell Institute, free of charge.
