In the concluding events of the annual fall handicap track meet, N. P. Beveridge '32 rounded out a successful two days taking his third first place in the meet by winning the broad jump. V. A. Lowe 1G made himself a double winner by placing first in the 880-yard run, having taken the 1 1-2 mile run the day before. W. C. Rowe '31, starting at scratch, took the 220-yard dash after a thrilling race in which he was led by his teammate of last year. F. E. Cummings '30, until the final few yards of the race.
The summary of yesterday's events:
70-yard high hurdles--Won by F. J. Mardulier '30 (scratch); second, D. J. Stannard '33 (scratch); third, C. T. Atwood '30 (scratch) won toss for medal, H. H, Caffee '31 (scratch), and W. C. Rowe '31. Time--9 4-5 sec.
220-yard dash--First Heat--Won by Rowe (scratch); second, Cummings (3 yards); third, J. B. Hawes '32 (scratch). Time--24 3-5 sec. Second heat--Won by R. B. Winslow '33 (three yards); second, E. W. Remick '30 (scratch); third, H. Kollmeyer '33 (scratch). Time--24 sec. Final--Won by Rowe; second, Cummings; third, Remick.
880-yard run--Won by Lowe (scratch); second, C. A. Williams '31 (five yards); third, G. P. Rosen '33 (20 yards). Time--2 min. 3 3-4 sec.
Javelin throw--Won by J. S. Marsh '32 (scratch); second, C. E. Sophos '30 (25 feet); third, S. C. Dorman '33 (18 feet); Distance--161 ft. 8 in.
Discus throw--Won by E. Yeomans '33 (40 feet); second, P. N. Vonck '31 (17 feet); third, Beecham Moore '31 (30 feet). Distance--113 ft. 11 in.
Broad jump--Won by Beyeridge (scratch); second, D. M. Sullivan '33 (3 1-2 feet); third, L. M. Adlerson '33 (3 feet). Distance--19 ft. 3 3-4 in.
Shot put--Won by F. C. Fitts '33 (scratch); second, D. Z. Zinn '33 (3 ft. 6 in.); third, R. A. S. Sharpe '33 (6 ft. 6 in.). Distance--43 ft. 4. in.
