"Oh, yes, I'm very interested in finding out how two colleges act towards each other in a social way the night before a big football game", said Dorothy Britton, famous Earl Carroll beauty, when asked how it felt to be the guest of honor at a large intercollegiate dance.
The event in question is the annual Harvard-Dartmouth football dance to be held tonight in the Imperial ballroom of the Hotel Statler. Miss Britton, known as Miss Universe or at least one of the Miss Universes, seemed inclined to talk about the event with an also willing CRIMSON reporter. "I've never heard the Harvardians play but I understand they made quite an impression in Europe last summer," she volunteered, "but then I suppose the Dartmouth orchestra must be good too. It will be sort of a battle of music before the real battle, won't it?
"No, I haven't bet any money on the game, and I haven't any ideas as to who will win. Even 14 I had I wouldn't publish them now; I'd wait until after I was safely home from the dance."
The CRIMSON reporter, not wishing to disturb her equanimity, refrained from suggesting the possibility of the latter event's never coming to pass.
The list of ushers who will officiate tonight follows:
Harvard--Bernard Barnes '30, A. G. Churchill '30, C. K. Galston '30, J. A. Hornaday '31, W. P. Lage '80, F. E. Remick '31, John Swope '30, R. H. Thompson '30, S. H. Foster '32.
Dartmouth--Roland Booms, John French, Richard Funkhouser, Porter Haskell, Hugh Johnson, Robert Kimball, Kenneth Kull, John Marsh, Charles Rauch, Nelson Rockefeller.
