BOARDS AND BILLBOARDS

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Drama

Wilbur--"Uncle Vanya". Lillian Gish, Walter Connolly, Osgood Perkins and others of the first water presenting a superb production. 8.15.

Plymouth--Phillip Merivaje and the Professional Players in "Death Takes A Holiday". A very popular production; adequate but not exceptional. 8.20.

Musical

Shubert--"Earl Carroll's Sketch Book" with no end of incipient Miss Americas and but a few yards of flimsy silk between themselves and perdition. 8.15.

Lyric--The 1930 edition of Lew Leslie's "Blackbirds". If you liked the previous productions this particular bit should be entertaining. 8.15.

Motion Pictures

Tremont--"Hell's Angels". The best air sequence ever filmed.

Majestic--D. W. Griffith again makes his appearance with a film on Linooln which has attracted considerable favorable comment.

Loew's State -- "Those Three French Girls". Namely, Fify d'Orsay, Nola d' Avril and Sondra Ravel being continental.

Loew's Orpheum--"Whoopee". Eddie Cantor in the movie version of Ziegfield's musical comedy. A fair movie musical show.

Keith-Albee -- "Leathernecking" with Ken Murray being quite amusing.

B. F. Keith's--"East is West". Lupo Velez and Lewis Ayres providing some Oriental atmosphere in a rather exciting fashion.

University--"Manslaughter". An excellent picture with Claudette Colbert and Frederic March dividing the honors. Also "What Men Want" which is a rank misstatement.

Metropolitan--The justly famous Elsie Ferguson in "Scarlet Pages". Another good talkie drama in the stage fashion.

"Central Square--"Good News" and "Man Trouble" which are both average movies.
