Three years ago the CRIMSON announced the presentation of a cup to be awarded under certain conditions to the preparatory school editing the best newspaper. Interested in promoting the publication of accurate and timely news in a methodical manner, it has believed that a prize of this kind would help to stimulate a keener sense of responsibility as well as of competition.
For the first three consecutive years, the cup has been won by the same school. In that it has established and maintained a high standard of quality which rises above that of every competitor the Choate News has once again manifested itself the worthy recipient of the prize award.
When a newspaper distinguishes itself not merely by asserting its supremacy the first time, but also by justifying its ownership of the cup during two successive years, it offers an unusual challenge to rival publications in the same class. To the staff of the Choate News are accorded the heartiest congratulations which are markedly deserved as the result of their latest achievement.
