STUDENT COUNCIL CHOOSES FAIRBANK TO FILL VACANCY

John King Fairbank '29, of Sioux City, South Dakota, has been elected by the Student Council to fill the place of C. McK. Norton '29, who has resigned.

Fairbank prepared at Philips Exeter Academy and after two years at the University of Wisconsin, transferred to Harvard last fall. He is president of the Debating Council, and at a recent meeting was voted vice-president of the Eastern Debating League.

Wallace Russell Harper '30, of Ottumwa, Iowa, has been appointed chairman of the Student Council committee on Freshman affairs, it was announced yesterday. He succeeds A.E. French '29.
