Following his performances against Yale a week ago and in the two mile event of the intercollegiate on Saturday, James Luther Reid '29, of Somerville, was elected next year's track captain yesterday afternoon before the team picture was taken at Notman's

During the indoor and outdoor track season of the past two years Reid has shown himself to be a remarkable distance runner, having placed in every 1-8 mile cross country record of W. L. Tibbetts '26 in the Yale race by 28 and 1-5 seconds. He prepared fro Harvard at Somerville High School.

Twenty three men have been awarded track letters for the past season. Besides Manager H. T. Thompson '28, those who received major "H's" for participation in the Yale meet are T. H. Alcock '29, L. D. Brayton '28, F. B. Clark '28, F. E. Cummings '30, W. M. Dow '29, Leslie Flaksman '29, A. E. French '29, David Guarnaccia '29, R. G. Luttman '29, T. G. Moore '29, R. H. O'Connell '30. W. C. Peet '28, R. P. Porter '29, J. W. Potter '30, C. A. Pratt '28, Captain elect Reid, G. I. Shapiro '28, G. A. Tupper '29, and J. O. Wildes '29. Of these men Alcock, P. S. Brown, S. E. Brown, Brayton, Cummings, Dow, Mason, O'Connell, and Potter received letters for track for the first time.

The past indoor and outdoor track seasons have been "the most successful for Harvard runners of any during the past 11 years", said Coach E. L. Farrell in a statement to the CRIMSON last night. "The team won all indoor and outdoor meets entered except the intercollegiates."
