On Soldiers Field tomorrow afternoon, the final lacrosse game of the season will be played when the Crimson-jerseyed stickmen meet the Blue team at 3 o'clock.
Harvard's lacrosse season has been none too good, due mainly to the shift in coaches which occurred in mid-season when H. W. Jeffers 2G.B. took the place of Tolbot Hunter as mentor. Since that time, the team has shown increasing power and coordination under the newly adopted Baltimorean system of play.
Thirteen games have been played during the season, four of which Harvard has won,--those against Dartmouth, Brown, Springfield, and Williams. The other encounters were lost by more or less decisive scores.
The only basis for prognostication as to the outcome of tomorrow's encounter lies in the fact that Yale beat Dartmouth 7 to 6, while Harvard downed the Green 10 to 3, and Union defeated Yale 8 to 6 while it overcame Harvard by an 8 to 1 margin. Little can be gleaned from these figures, and the struggle will be a close one at all events.
Yale's team has shown consistent strength throughout the season, having defeated Princeton last Saturday 6 to 4. The Orange and Black team, many of whose players hail from Maryland and other lacrosse playing centers of the Middle South, is generally rated high in the intercollegiate group.
