LIGHTWEIGHTS LEAVE TODAY FOR DERBY RACE

PRINCETON EIGHT IS CONCEDED SLIGHT ADVANTAGE

At 11.45 o'clock this morning the first University 150-pound crew will leave for Derby, Connecticut to complete in the triangular regatta with the Yale and Princeton lightweights. The race will be held tomorrow afternoon before the Yale, Princeton, and Cornell first eights compete.

The Princeton 150-pound crew opened its season with an easy victory over the M. I. T. lightweights that defeated Harvard the following week in the Charles River Basin. Two weeks ago the Yale 150-pound combination took the wash from the Cornell and Pennsylvania shells at Philadelphia, finishing a poor third. As a result, on the basis of earlier races. Princeton is conceded the advantage in tomorrow's contest.

The three crews will row the Henley distance on the Derby course.

University Crew Has Time Trial

Yesterday afternoon before leaving for Philadelphia for the regatta with Pennsylvania and Navy the first two University eights paddled over the Charles River Basin course in a light workout with a few racing starts.

The lineup of the 150-pound crew that leaves this morning, is as follows:-

Stroke--James De Normandie '29: 7, H. W. Bragdon '28, 6, W. I. Gregg '29: 5, R. D. Bolster '28; 4, F. E. Farnsworth '29; 3, F. B. Lee '29; 2, J. A. Swords '29; bow, D. S. Staples '30; cox., R. H. Miller '30. The substitutes that will make the trip are; A. M. Pappenheimer '28, and C. O. Tuck '28.
