UNIVERSITY LACROSSE TWELVE LOSES TO UNION

CRIMSON KEEPS SCORE EVEN IN FIRST HALF

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University lacrosse team bowed to the powerful Union College twelve Saturday afternoon on Soldiers Field by an 8 to 1 score.

For the greater part of the first half the Crimson team played the Union stickmen on even terms. J. C. Dreier '28 matched a Union tally early in the period and the score remained one all until the last few minutes when the visitors opened up on the attack and went into the lead. In the last half the superior teamwork and steadiness of the Union players enabled them to pull ahead steadily until the end.

The Crimson team will meet the Syracuse lacrosse men at 4 o'clock this afternoon on Soldiers Field. The Syracuse team, coached by L. D. Cox '08, is reputed to be one of the strongest in New York State and is favored to defeat Harvard today.

The University lined up against Union as follows:

H. L. Ellison '28 and W. J. Salmon '30, g.; J. H. Lane '28, p.; Ira Markwett '28 and G. J. Cleary '29, c.p.; H. M. Hartnett '30, 1d.; S. P. Park '29, 2d. O. E. Mulliken '28, 3d.; R. L. Hatch '28 and C. D. McQuaid '28, c.; F. A. Pickard '29, 1a.; R. C. Glenn '30 and H. B. Sanders '30, 2a.; Dreier, 3a.; A. M. Murphy '29, o.h.; H. J. Wallace '28, i.h.

The Harvard team will probably line up against Syracuse as it did against Union. The Syracuse lineup for today's game follows:

Barclay, g.; Harrington, p; O'Hara, c.p.; Kahn, 1d.; Southard, 2d.; Tarbox, 3d.; Bizik, c.; Hughes, 3a.; Baker, 2a.; Painter, 1a.; Livingston, l.h.; Longley, o.h.
