Rabbi Zarchi Confronted Maria Ressa, Walked Off Stage Over Her Harvard Commencement Speech
In a one-sided match played on Divinity Courts on Saturday afternoon, the M. I. T. tennis team was defeated by the University racquetmen by the score of 8 to 1.
The only match won by the Engineers came when Arthur Ingraham '30 found Wigglesworth of M. I. T. too strong for him and lost 6-2, 6-2. The other five singles and all three doubles matches were easily won by the University.
The Seconds meanwhile downed Dean Academy on Jarvis Field, scoring a 6 to 0 victory over the schoolboys. All the matches were taken with little difficulty by the Harvard scrubs.
The summary of Saturday's University match follows:
Singles--B. H. Whitbeck '29 defeated Kuki (M. I. T), 6-2, 6-1; M. T. Hill '30 defeated Cleary (M. I. T.), 6-0, 6-0; Wigglesworth (M. I. T.) defeated Arthur Ingraham Jr. '30, 6-2, 6-2; E. B. Ward '30 defeated Kononoff (M. I. T.), 6-1, 6-4; J. H. Appleton '29 defeated Hagedorn (M. I. T.), 6-1, 9-7; C. R. Hamlen '30 defeated Searles (M. I. T.), 6-2, 6-2.
Doubles--Hill and F. K. Trask Jr. '30 defeated Kuki and Wigglesworth (M. I. T.), 6-1, 6-3; Whitbeck and Ward defeated Cleary and Kononoff (M. I. T.), 6-0, 6-1; Ingraham and Hamlen defeated Hagedorn and Searles (M. I. T.), 6-2, 6-3.
The summary of the second team match was as follows:
Singles--J. L. Ware '30 defeated Messer (D), 8-6, 6-4; J. C. Rueter '28 defeated Burt (D.), 6-2, 6-3; A. G. Thacher Jr. '29 defeated Barber (D.), 6-0, 6-0; F. L. Herz '29 defeated Gifford (D.), 6-0, 6-1.
Doubles--Ware and Rueter defeated Messer and Burt (D.), 6-8, 3-6, 6-3; Herz and H. W. Sayles '28 defeated Gifford and Van Petten (D.), 6-0, 6-3.
