A match with M. I. T. today on the Divinity Courts at 3 o'clock will be the third home encounter for the University tennis team. Coach H. L. Cowles is sending the same combination onto the courts which beat Lehigh on Wednesday, with the exception that E. B. Ward '30 has moved up to number 4 position as a result of elimination matches.
The Technology netmen are reputed to be rather weak. They were recently defeated by West Point, and although their strength as a whole is unknown. Coach Cowles expresses confidence that the Crimson team will be able to handle the Engineers.
Yesterday afternoon, William Lawrence Breese '31, of Garrison-on-Hudson, N. Y. was elected to captain the Freshman tennis team, after a match with the Dartmouth first year men which had to be called off early on account of rain. Breese prepared at St. Mark's, where he played on the tennis team and rowed on the crew.
The lineup of the University team for today is as follows:
Singles No. 1, Captain B. H. Whitbeck '29: No. 2, M. T. Hill '30: No. 3, Arthur Ingraham Jr. '30: No. 4, K. B. Ward '30: No. 5, J. H. Appleton '29: No. 6, C. R. Hamlen '30.
Doubles No. 1, Hill and F. K. Trask Jr. '30: No. 2, Ward and Whitbeck: No. 3, Ingraham and Hamlen.
