UNIVERSITY TENNIS PLAYERS WIN ONE AND DROP ONE MATCH

Rain Prevents Other Two of Tourneys Scheduled for Trip

Due to rain and snow, only two of the four, tennis tournaments scheduled for the spring trip last week were completed by the University team. The Harvard players' won one of these tournaments defeating the Navy at Annapolis, Saturday, 5 to 1, in a close contest.

The first tournament of the spring trip was the annual North and South tournament at Pinchurst, Monday and Tuesday. The first day, the University players were defeated in all their matches. John Door, George Lott, who won the tournament, and Frank Shields being among their opponents.

The team was defeated by the Norfolk Country Club, 5 to 3, on Wednesday and Thursday. The last doubles match bad to be cut for lack of time.

The men who made the trip are M T Hill '30, Captain B. H. Whitbeck '29, J. R. Appleton '29, Arthur Ingraham '30, C. R. Hamlin '29, F. R. Wand '30, C. M. Bennett '28, and Coach H L Cowles.
