To the Editor of the CRIMSON:

Loud and doleful have been the cries of English 72ites, who so recently have passed thru an ordeal called an hour exam. Loud and doleful are the cries over the fact that upon the outside reading, and upon the outside reading alone, was the exam based.

But loud and doleful need the cries no longer be. For pause but a moment to think: Was there aught in all the lectures of this half year that merited as much as mention in an exam? J. Pendergast Elliott '30.
