Richard Chandler Aldrich '31, of Barrytown, New York was elected captain of the University cross country team for the coming year at a meeting of the harrier squad in Notman's Studio yesterday afternoon.
Aldrich prepared at St. Paul's School where he was a prominent member of the cross country team. Last year he was captain of the Freshman runners and was a member of the 1931 track team. This year he gained a minor "H" for his work on the University team.
Two years ago J. L. Reid '29 was elected captain of the harriers in his sophomore year and Aldrich repeats this situation by virtue of yesterday's election. The only other returning letterman next year is R. G. Hodges '31 who was also awarded a minor "H" this fall. Several members of the 1932 team have proved themselves runners of ability and will be on hand next year.
