A rumor that there would be a change in departmental policy establishing a reading period in Economics A was declared false by Professor H. H. Burbank in an interview yesterday.
A plan was, it is true, under consideration for holding only two classes per week in this subject, with the substitution of outside reading in place of the third class, but the Department according to Professor Burbank's statement ruled out the proposal.
Professor Burbank assured the Crimson reporter, however, that all the intermediate courses in the field,--that is to say, those which are open both to graduates and undergraduates--will continue to have a reading period.
A change in policy has been made in the tutorial department of History Government, and Economics, Professor Burbank said at the same time, which will allow for special treatment of the problems of individual students.
