223 COLLEGE HARRIERS RUN IN SIX MILE TEST

REID AND SEVEN OTHER HARVARD RUNNERS WILL START

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The 1928 University Cross Country team will see action for the last time this afternoon when it enters eight men in the Intercollegiate Cross Country Run at Van Courtland Park, New York City.

Captain J. L. Reid '29, running his last cross country race for the Crimson, is expected to take one of the first three places of the field of 223. He took third place a year ago, while William Cox of Penn State and H. L. Richardson of Maine, who took first and second places last year, are again in the running. Cox, however, was beaten by Reid in the Intercollegiate last spring.

Eight Men Entered

The other Harvard entries, in order of their standing are Leslie Flaksman '29, R. C. Aldrich '31, A. G. Thacher '29, Guy Murchie '29, J. M. French '29, R. G. Hodges '31, and F. B. Thurber '30.

Reid, Flaksman, and Aldrich have taken the first three places in all the meets except one this fall in which they have run.

The colleges entered in the race this afternoon are Carnegie Tech, City College of New York, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Manhatten, Maine, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Michigan State, New York University, Penn State, University of Pennsylvania. Princeton, Syracuse, Williams, and Yale.

Six Mile Course Altered

The six mile course has been changed slightly this year, although it still retains the double jaunt over the hills. The harriers will start and finish near Broadway, and will cut down near the end of the park before doubling back for their journey under the trestle and over the hills.
