The Amherst College soccer team defeated the University booters 2 to 1 in a closely contested game Saturday afternoon at Amherst.

In the first minute of play, D. L. Stabr leading player of the Lord Jeff team put his eleven in the lead by scoring the first tally, when J. P. Faude '31, Harvard goalie, dropped an easy roller and the ball fell in.

In the third quarter Harvard retaliated when W. D. Carter '31, who played steadily throughout the game, booted the only score for his team.

The game continued a tie until the last minute, when B. R. Goodwin, the Amherst captain, scored the deciding point.

Freshmen Overwhelm Dean

In its first regular game of the season, the Harvard Freshman soccer team won a decided victory in defeating the Dean Academy team by a 5 to 0 score on Soldiers Field.

The 1932 booters were held scoreless until the third period on account of the treacherous footing of the wet ground.

But A. R. Wight '32 caged he ball in the third period and his teammates followed his lead in the next period by scoring four more goals.
