The University's uninterrupted reign of four years as champion of the Massachusetts Squash Racquets Association was definitely broken yesterday when the Newton Centre Club defeated the University racquetmen, 4-1, on the former's courts. Team B likewise suffered a defeat, falling at the small end of a 4-1 score in its match with the Harvard Club in Boston. The Freshman players and team, C, not having a match scheduled for Saturday with any outside teams, played a game on the University courts, in which the first year men were victorious by a score of 32.

By defeating the Cambridge Squash Racquets Association, the Boston Athletic Association regained the championship title of the Massachusetts Squash Racquets Association, which it has not held for 10 years. Although the University representatives will meet this team next week, the match will have no bearing on the championship, even if Harvard should win all five matches. There are four clubs tied for second place, and the results of next week's matches will determine which will be the winner of the quadruple tie. The four teams are the University, Harvard Club, Cambridge Squash Association, and Newton Centre.
