In the opening wrestling meet of the season held in Hemenway Gymnasium Saturday night, the University grapplers downed Tufts by the score of 14 to 9 while Standish Hall carried off first honors in the Freshman Interdormitory meet. By winning from Tufts, the Crimson team repeated their victory of last year when they overwhelmed the Jumbo matmen 19 to 10.
The feature of the meet was the win in the heavyweight class which T. D. Howe Jr. '28, captain of the Harvard matmen, gained over Curit of Tufts three minutes before the end of their overtime bout. Another match went overtime but all bouts were settled by decisions of the referee and none by falls.
In the final round of the Freshman Interdormitory tournament, Standish Hall won three bouts, Gore Hall two, and Smith and McKinlock one each.
