The Freshman hockey season will be well under way when the first-year men meet Browne and Nichols in their initial encounter on the Charlesbank Rinks at 3 o'clock this afternoon.
Nineteen men survived a cut by Cach William Mickles this afternoon. According to indications so far, the Freshman squad holds out more promice than any other first-year teams in recent seasons.
The outstanding player in the first string line-up is P. A. Watts '31, only Freshman to score against the University players in the scrimmage last Wednesday. J. D. Garrison '31 another star, will not be able to partake in the fray as he was injured by a skate cut which will keep him off the ice for a week in yesterday's practice. Much is expected of S. L. Batchelder '31 whose long reach, weight and aggressiveness are decided advantages in favor of the Crimson.
The line-up follows: P. A. Watts, l.w.; R. S. Oden, c.; C. Frothingham, r.w.; W. A. Richardson, l.d.; S. L. Batchelder, r.d.; M. G. Gammack, g. The other men who have been retained are: J. B. Baldwin, C. M. Cain, H. Ellis, H. D. Everett, J. B. Garrison, R. Gilmor, W. J. Govan J. W. Hallowell, P. Jewell, C. E. McGregor, H. J. Pope, C. C. Putnam, F. M. Pruyn.
