SEVEN MID-YEAR AWARDS OPEN TO FIRST-YEAR MEN

Applications for Scholarships Are Due January 16--Granted On Basis of Character, Need, and Record

Applications for mid-year scholarships are due at 4 University Hall on or before January 16. The only men eligible are freshmen in good standing, including provisionally classified students in their first year of residence, as well as men on the Dean's list as a result of midyear grades.

The scholarships are awarded on a basis of character and need as well as on the student's scholastic record. The ones to be awarded are:

Class of 1867, 1923 Memorial, for a Freshman entering from the Senior Class of Phillips Exeter Academy for $400.

Crowninshield, ordinarily to be held throughout the recipent's college course; two, each for $425.

Thomas Hall, for $650, which may be divided.

N. P. Hallowell Hemorial, awarded after midyears, to be held after graduation, for $400.

Mary L. Whitney, awarded after midyears; two, one for $400, one for $325.
