HIKING AGAIN FORMS PART OF FRESHMAN SPORT CURRICULUM

Success of Last Year Leads to Combination of Walks

Because of its success last season as a Freshman sport, hiking will be continued this year it was announced yesterday. The first hike of the season will be made on Sunday. October 9, under the guidance of R. H. Lee 3L, hike-master.

As a fulfillment of the physical education requirement, a man must walk five miles twice a week and as one of the group must make a trip of ten miles on Saturdays or Sundays. Through the fall week-end hikes will be made on Sundays instead of Saturdays because of the scheduled University football games.

Hiking was organized for the first time last year with a group of 25 men participating.
