CREW CANDIDATES TO REPORT AT FIRST MEETING TOMORROW

Harvard rowing will start its second year under the direction of Coach E. J. Brown '96 when candidates for the University and the University 150-lb. crews meet the mentor at Newell Boat House tomorrow. The University aspirants will gather at 4 o'clock, while the lighter oarsmen will assemble half an hour later.

Fall practice will be held under the direct supervision of Coach Brown. He will take full personal charge of the heavy crews and will oversee the work of the 150 pounders. No assistants have yet been appointed. F. R. Sullivan '27, coxswain of last year's victorious University eight, and R. W. Ladd '27, who rowed at No. 3, will aid Brown in his work this fall.

Plans call for the division of the candidates into five or six boats, which will work together for a short season. Throughout the fall individual instruction on the indoor tanks will be a feature of the work.

Weather conditions generally force the end of outdoor rowing about November 1. It is possible that a brief program of handicap races may conclude the schedule.
